Departure from Piazza San Francesco:

Begin the tour from the emblematic Piazza San Francesco, dominated by the Baroque Church of San Francesco D'Assisi, which gives the square its name.

Via del Corso and Piazza del Sedile:

Through Via del Corso, the main artery of the historic center, we will admire the grandeur of the palaces, churches, and monuments of the 18th-century Dorsale. Continuing along Via delle Beccherie, we will reach Piazza del Sedile, where the Conservatory of Music Egidio Romualdo Duni stands.

Piazza Duomo:

We will move towards Piazza Duomo, in the Civita district, the oldest in the city. Here we will admire the magnificence of the Cathedral in Puglian Romanesque style, surrounded by noble residences of the time, including Palazzo Gattini, Palazzo Venusio, and Palazzo Malvinni Malvezzi.

Piazza Vittorio Veneto:

Continuing, we will reach the lively Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in the central nucleus of Matera's historic center. Here we will explore the underground tunnels and the Rock Church of the Holy Spirit, dating back to the 10th century AD.

Sasso Barisano and Church of Sant'Agostino:

Through Via D'Addozio, we will move towards the picturesque Sasso Barisano, where we can admire the unique panorama near the Church of Sant'Agostino.

Porta Pistola and Casa Grotta:

Continuing along Via D'Addozio, Via Sant'Antonio Abate, and Via Madonna delle Virtù, we will arrive at Porta Pistola, from where we can admire the breathtaking panorama.
